WELCOME TO THE TATA UK E-NEWSLETTER

Last month I was lucky enough to attend the launch of Enterprise Alliance UK at the Houses of Parliament.  The group has been formed to actively promote enterprise and entrepreneurship education in the UK.  Its aim is to increase opportunities for students and graduates to create new ventures and if the young people who mulled over the business issues of the day with me are anything to go by, this is an achievable goal!

Tata has been supporting one of the founding members of the Alliance – the National Consortium of University Entrepreneurs (NACUE) – since its formation last year. This year, Tata and its UK companies will continue to help NACUE in its mission to spread enterprise throughout the nation’s campuses.  Watch out for the Tata Blue Skies Award at NACUE’s Varsity Pitch Competition, a Tata address at the NACUE National Student Enterprise Conference and much more besides.

I would also like to take the opportunity to congratulate the two teams from Oxford and Strathclyde Universities that came out on top of the second Tata Crucible campus quiz, held towards the end of last year.  The intellect, lateral thought and strength of personality on display at this event and those of Enterprise Alliance UK and NACUE, leave me with no doubt that the next generation of UK business talent will achieve great things.

And now to today’s business leaders - I hope you enjoy reading about some of the recent activities and achievements of Tata businesses in the UK.
